Fungal Infections Facts

The most common type of fundal infection is athlete’s foot (or tinea pedis). Tinea Pedis is caused by a fungus, usually occurring between the toes. This fungus most commonly attacks the feet because shoes create a warm, dark, and humid environment which encourages fungus growth. The fungus that causes athlete’s foot is most commonly found on floors in wet humid areas.
